YOU KNOW YOU LIVE IN KEY WEST WHEN........

Your daughter knows the drag queens at 801 Bourbon and says hello everytime she's down on Duval with her friends.
(thank you ladies for being kind to curious teenagers!)

Drag races have nothing to do with cars (they have everything to do with high heels and makeup).

Being a local is readily identified by the lack of sunburn and the abundance of suntan.

You know who's doing what on any given night (salsa at Virgilio's on Thursday, breakfast at Chico's after work, the Schooner Wharf anytime...)

You know the cops and EMS by name.

You know the homeless by name.

You don't ask what the weather's going to be like, just when the tides are coming in.

You love it when the tourists go home and it's your town again.

You have your own personal beach.

You have your own fictional country (The Conch Republic) with its own passport.
