Bet you didn't know about Key Deer......they're the tiny little deer that are a protected species in Florida. They live in a National Wildlife Refuge on Big Pine Key near us. They roam free, traipsing through yards, roads, and the occasional garbage cans. The world stops for them......traffic is slow on the island, and everyone watches out for these little "bambi-nos".
Little D shot these pix at her friends' house in Big Pine. They came through the yard and were gentle enough to come around and be photographed. TOO CUTE!
